Marny Energy mobile power unit with second-life batteries

AVEM looked at the mobile power unit we delivered in two months for the Hospices Civils de Lyon lung screening truck. We fitted a Renault Master with two second-life Volkswagen ID packs of 80 kWh each, enough to run the scanner, the air conditioning and the lighting for three days.

Automobile Propre followed the van we built for the Hospices Civils de Lyon respiratory screening truck, put together in two months with Marc Areny. Two second-life Volkswagen ID packs, 160 kWh in all, run the unit through the day and recharge in under an hour on a fast charger.

For this Objective 2050 episode, made with EDF, Monde Numérique interviewed our chief executive Pierre-Antoine Preynat about the second life we give to electric vehicle batteries. He presents our Battery-Shelter containers, 120 to 900 kWh of capacity for up to 200 kW of power, and explains how repurposing adds 10 to 15 years to a battery’s life before it is recycled.

Mesinfos came to see us in Villeurbanne, where Marc Areny showed a Battery-Shelter built from packs recovered out of written-off Teslas and Volkswagens. The piece notes up to 650 kWh of capacity per container, engineering we keep in house, and close to two million euros of orders, including units shipped to Hungary.
